CYCLE-FRIENDLY WINE ESTATES

Oak Valley is open 365 days a year during daylight hours only. The trails are top-rated, and they offer bike wash and shower facilities. Their courses were pioneered by legend Pieter Visser, who designed the routes to accommodate all skill levels. From the Racing Snake, Strava Hunter, Trail Blazer to the Weekend Warrior riding with his family, there is something here for every rider. Oak Valley is known for its groomed single track. Discover their famous sections like Stone & Steel, Fountain of Youth, and Sounds of Silence. The trail consists of a short blue route and a longer red route. The red route links to several black loops which cater for more advanced riders.  Riders pass through beautiful natural scenery, forests of ancient oaks, vineyards, fruit orchards, across cattle pastures, all set against the stunning backdrop of the Groenlandberg mountains. It is a world-class 5-star experience.

Paul Cluver is also a playground for mountain bike enthusiasts.  You can either enjoy the play park nestled amongst the fig trees or venture out on a selection of routes. The blue routes are undulating trails of jeep track. The red sections are a variety of single track, that includes beautiful fynbos, the famous bridges like Poffadder and Witklippieskloof and the rolling switchbacks in Mamba, Cobra, Jakkals, Pine singles and the berms. Riders have the option to choose how much single track to include. After your cycle, you can freshen up in the hot showers, located in the building next to the play park. Remember to bring your towel. Open 365 days a year during daylight hours only.

South Hill Vineyards also offer a 3.2km track, suitable for both walkers or mountain bikers to explore and enjoy.

HIKING THE MOUNTAINS
