Make it a weekend getaway and visit the Elgin Railway Market or Peregrine Farmstall to stock up on local goodies to add to your picnic basket. There are lots of shady picnic spots set under old oak trees. The farm also has mountain bike trails, which start from and loop back to the cottages and a big dam in which you can cool down.
