Five of Elgin Wines were rated amongst the top 10 blends in the seventh annual Sauv-Sem Blend/Wooded Sauvignon Blanc Report. There were 29 blend entries (from 24 producers) and 23 wooded Sauvignon Blanc entries (from 21 producers) and these were tasted blind (labels out of sight) by a three-person panel, scoring done according to the 100-point quality scale.
Iona Elgin Highlands Wild Ferment 2018 (rating 92) was selected amongst the top five Wooded Sauvignon Blanc and the other Elgin Wines that were rated withing the top 10 blends (with rating alongside) were as follows:
• Elgin Ridge Chaos White 2018 – 93
• Highlands Road Since Cera 2016 – 92
• Highlands Road Since Cera 2017 – 93
• The Smuggler’s Boot SBS 2018 (Richard Kershaw Wines) – 91
